A highly anticipated match-up of once beaten teams between the IC Catholic Prep Knights and the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs was supposed to be the highlight game of the week in the Metro Suburban Conference.
Unfortunately, the much talked of match-up never materialized to be a competitive game.
The Knights used a dominant offense and swarming defense to coast to a 48-14 thrashing of the home team Bulldogs on October 7 in Brookfield.
A 20 and 21-point first and second quarter turned out to be too much for the host Bulldogs.
Opening with a 44-yard touchdown pass, the Knights were just beginning their big-play display.
The first half saw them also score on a 41-yard touchdown run, then a 49-yard touchdown pass among the barrage of scoring.
The Knights 41-point first half saw them able to play many of their second- and third-unit players the remainder of the second half.
The Knights totaled 344-yards passing while running for 165 for a total offense of 509 yards.
The Knights improved to 6-1 while the Bulldogs dropped to 4-2 on the year.
