The Pioneers continued their second set of Flag games on their Homecoming Day. Earlier, the Gray and the White Pioneer Flag teams showed their skills against the visiting Falcons.
Now it was time for the Red and Blue Pioneer Flag teams to show their stuff.
The Red Pioneers had a successful outing against the Falcons. They used speed and agility to dominate the visitors and managed to score twice in each half, doubling the Falcons on Homecoming.
The first half saw offense and defense control much of the play for the Pioneers.
Offensively, Winston Faddis knew exactly what to do with the football, having runs of 23 and 15-yards. He scored a touchdown and made it look easy, using his speed and ability to avoid the grasps of his Falcon opponents.
Also having a big touchdown run was James Morrissey. He took the first snap from the 40-yard line and zipped to the endzone for the long touchdown run. He made a cut to avoid a grab and then ran past all the Falcon defenders. It was the longest run of the day for both teams.
The second half offense saw more scoring for the White Pioneers. Faddis was at it again, this time he streaked 36-yards to the end-zone and never looked back in the process. He was too difficult to catch.
Decker Wojcik also displayed his talents. He added to the scoring tally from 36-yards out during his touchdown run. His quickness created space the Falcons couldn’t overcome.
Other Pioneers also had a chance of running for pay-dirt. Quinn Brickey, Ryan Collins, Charlie Graff, Jack Cosme, Cooper Riley and Jimmy Brendich all took the pigskin with hopes of scoring and added to the offense barrage.
Defensively, the Red Pioneers shutout the Falcons in the first half behind the quick hands of Collins, Wojcik, Luke Brickey and Patrick Knutych.
The Falcons did score twice in the second half, but the Pioneers were comfortably ahead and continued their aggressive play defensively to secure the win.
Owen Graham, William Egan, Danny Zeller and Christian Murzanski also added their efforts in the victory.
The Blue Pioneers had their hands full with the visiting Falcons. Quick plays to the outside by the visitors provided the deficit for the Blue Pioneers.
Trying to match score-for-score, the Pioneers gave their all on both sides of the ball.
The Blue Offense was a showcase for Kolin Jackson. His running attack saw him score from 41, 8, 39, and 1-yard away. His four-touchdown effort featured his ability to get outside quickly, avoid Falcon arms and hit the sidelines, jetting to the end-zone.
Jackson has natural speed, and he uses it to his advantage every time he shoots to the outside. He’s simply too fast for his foes to make the tackle.
Jackson also tried his talents at throwing, tossing passes during the game. The Pioneers have quite a talent in their coffer.
The offense also had others that gained big yards for the Blue Pioneers.
Kevin Wasilewski, Nicholas Dertz and George Petraitis all accumulated yards on their runs. Patrick Mraz had runs of 13 and 12-yards. Dean Kassam added 11-yards on his run.
The Pioneers struggled to make a stop of the Falcons running game. The effort was there with Jackson, Mraz, Wasilewski, Caden Kolodzieji and Kassem making stops, but the Falcons managed to score one more touchdown then the Blue Piioneers.
Other Pioneers showing skills were Finn Hogan, Jordy Kolodzieji, Dylan McArdle, Blake Nance, Joshua Sundararaj and Colin Valan.
