With a dominant performance on the mats, the IC Catholic Prep matmen let everyone know they are a force to be reckon with in this years IHSA 2A Wrestling State Tournamnet.
Under the tutelage of Coach Danny Alcocer and some added transfer talent, the Knights would go on to capture 11 Regional Championships in Arlington Heights at the Forest View Educational Center, which hosted this year’s 2A Wheeling Regional.
Among its Champions was the IHSA 2A top ranked Michael Calcagno at 285, along with second-ranked wrestlers, Deven Casey at 120; Joe Gliatta at 165 and Foley Calcagno at 190.
The Knights prevailed over second place Deerfiled by more than one hundred point difference. IC scored 268.5 points, Deerfield was runner-up with 161.5 followed by Wheeling at 158.5 and Fenton with 123.5
